每年八月一日是中國人民解放軍建軍紀(jì)念日，因此也叫“八一”建軍節(jié)。其來歷是：1927年8月1日凌晨2時，以周恩來為首的前敵委員會和賀龍、葉挺、朱德、劉伯承等領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的北伐部隊2萬人。在江西南昌舉行了武裝起義，打響了中國共產(chǎn)黨武裝反抗國民黨*的第一槍，是中國共產(chǎn)黨獨立領(lǐng)導(dǎo)武裝斗爭的開始。
1928年4月，朱德、陳毅率領(lǐng)保存下來的南昌起義軍與毛澤東領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的秋收起義部隊在井岡山會師，正式組成了中國工農(nóng)革命軍第四軍。1933年6月30日，中央革命軍事委員會決定：每年8月1日為中國工農(nóng)紅軍紀(jì)念日。同年7月11日，中華蘇維埃共和國臨時中央政府批準(zhǔn)了這個決定。從此，“八一”成了中國人民解放軍的建軍節(jié)。
