　　In my hometown, the air is polluted seriously. However, in recent years, the pollution gets from bad to worse, because of the increasing number of private cars. Especially during the rush hours, too many private vehicles move slowly on narrow roads, emitting a large amount of waste gas. Moreover, the poisonous gas sent by the nearby factories is also one of the main causes of pollution. Therefore, it’s demanded that immediate and effective measures must be taken to restrict private cars and public transportation must be developed to the largest extent. Besides, we should use renewable and clean energy recourses.

　　在我的家鄉，空氣污染十分嚴重。然而，近幾年內，由于私家車數目的增多，空氣污染變得更加糟糕。特別是在交通高峰期里，有太多的私家車在狹窄的道路上慢慢的移動，釋放出大量污染氣體。此外，附近工廠排放的有毒氣體也是主要污染源頭。因此，這要求采用直接有效的措施來限制私家車，最大限度地開發公共交通。而且我們還應使用干凈、可持續的能源。

　　Air pollution is one of the major problems of the modern world. A great deal of energy is needed to run the factories of modern industrial nations. Automobile, trains, planes and busses need energy, too.

　　Nearly all of this energy is produced by burning fuels. The burning produces wastes, some of which remain in the air, causing air pollution.

　　Scientists are finding ways to stop air pollution especially in big industrial areas and densely-populated cities. They are studying new ways of generating electricity that may be less damaging to the environment. In the meantime, many power plants are being modernized to give off less polluted material. Also, engineers try to design and locate new power plants to do minimum damage to the environment.

　　However, it may be that we still have a long way to go before we have a "clean" world. Nearly all of the countries are trying hard to prevent and control air pollution.

　　There indeed seems to be no end to tasks that environmentalists will be required to do. People will continually find new ways to control pollution.
