good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. today i would like to begin with a story.

there was once a physical1) therapist who traveled all the way from america to africa to do a2) census about mountain3) gorillas. these gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of4) poaching and being put into the zoo. she went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. she witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the african rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas5) cuddled their babies.

yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs. dian fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a6) timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.

today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. on the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. it has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in gdp growth. it has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. but on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren't natural anymore. deforestation to heat lodges is devastating nepal. oil spills from tourist boats are polluting antarctica. tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to u2on walkman and wear nike and reeboks.

all these7) appalling(令人震驚的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been8) eroding(侵蝕) our resources.

encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the united nations has made the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.

now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives,9) plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and10) invalids(殘疾人), some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. these are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. why? because they care. because they still want their mother nature back. because they know it still belongs to them.

this kind of feeling that i have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it's all coming from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish.

the other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. i found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else. a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seem to have been except the deer.

and all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it's lime for us to do something, for our own and our coming generation. once again, i have come to think of mrs. dian fossey be- cause it's with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.

and no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.

  thank you very much.

thanks, contestant# topic for your impromptu speech is:which is more important for you: knowledge from books or personal experience? answer: thank you. i remember, on my very first day of my beloved university, one of my professors said to me,“from now on, you’ll be on a journey between who you think you are and who yo can key is to allow yourself to continue the journey in the ocean of the books.”and i do learn a lot from books: i know the geometry of euclid, logic of

aristotle, fable of aesop the known to children around the world. well, no offense to all those great authors of the books, but during my three years at my university, i do realize that personal experience through practice means more to me. as we are in this global information age where both economic growth and individual opportunity are based on ideas, a commitment to providing all human beings the golden opportunity to develop themselves is so vital, not only to the people here, but all around. as we are in this transformational age where communications and commerce are global, investments are mobile, technology is almost magical, and the ambition for a better life is now universal, and i think this is why we are here today. we want to earn our personal experience through practicing our oral english, sharing our opinions of tourism and ecology with all the judges and audience here. and i think we are so lucky to be alive at this moment of the history. never before have our nation enjoyed so much prospertity and so much social progress with so little internal never before have our young people had so much great opportunity to practice ourselves and, therefore, have a profound obligation to build a more perfect nation of our ancestor’s dream. and i think our government had provided us young people with the tools and condition to build the future of our dreams. even if we know some rules, some regulations, or experiences from our books, we still simply cannot graft it onto today’s busier, more impersonal, complicated world. instead, our challenges is to arrive at a consensus values and common vision of what we can do today individually andcollectively to build a strong family and strong community, and above all, make the world a better place for us to live. thank you very much. contestant#18, in your speech, you talked about ecotourism. could you explain to us difference between ordinary tourists and e-tourists, or ecotourists?

Good evening , ladies and gentlemen .

Iam joy and glad to give you aspeech about stress , yes , just the topic you see on the screen.

psychologisttell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living , suchas too much work or study , heavy responsibilities , and quickened pace of life. statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life . financialproblems , poor health , being laid off may be the stress that most adults nowsuffering . as students in the university , we are also under our special stress. while study , having to take various tests and submit a project against adeadline may put a great pressure on us . and the things make us felt stressedmay be our parents’s greater expectations on us than we could reach . later ,when we are likely to graduate , some other problems will also annoy us . ithink we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and howwe can best use what we’ve learned at college in our future job .

the chiefproblem we should face to is our atitude towards stress .people usually say theycan not live in the sun except they escape from stress . it’s unwelcome ! yes ,however , very necessary . just image a world where stress does not exist andpeople lead their life in a very comfortable way . but is this kind of livingcondition as perfect as we hope ? without stress , they may feel very satisfiedwith the current life but lack of power to discover new things result in nothingexcept a countermarch of the society . no stress , no development . so a certainamount of stress is good . it can stimulate us and increase our level ofalertness . and our answer to stress is another vital problem . how to do withourselves when stress suddenly break into our life ? to wave the white flag andadmit our unability , to give up to our ideality , or worstly , just to suicideas to put an end to everything … of cause not . the principle is to tackle withstress gentlely and harmoniously. we should try our best to release ourselves .such as to do some exercise , to linsen to traditional chinese music orclassical music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life aschallenges .it’s no use crying over spilt milk . only to accept what hashappened can solve the problem .

ok , i think i was under large stress 3minutes before , but now i am here and have finished my speech . here is thelast thing i want to add to my topic ,face to it and overcome it ,stress is alsoa piece of cake

what we can't afford to lose

dear teathers and classmates, good evening! my name is ,today i am very excited to stand here to talk with you about our impact on what we can't afford to lose.

there are many things in the world that we cannot afford to lose, such as our health, our families and friends, wealth, lovers, and so on. but i think the most important one of which is the pure and fresh surroundings.

people say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams. and if, unfortunately, mr. reality wins this war, then i see no future of mankind at all. aids will never be curable as this is the reality; people living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this is the reality; disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance is the reality.

ladies and gentlemen, how many of you have a dream of being able to make a lot of money? please raise your hands. oh, quite a number of you! actually, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a dream, but a task. every one of us has to make a living, right? anyway i hope your task will be accomplished. how many of

you think that you have already fulfilled your dream and that you don't dream anymore? dear 5)adjudicators, what do you think? c.s. lewis once said,"you are never too old to dream a new dream." so for our future, please dream and be unrealistic.

now that i am a university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. but at the same time, i have a dream deeply rooted in our future. one day, people living in the areas now

(6)sweltering with the horror of wars will be able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment. one day, people from the rich countries are willing to share what they have with those from the poor countries and those from the poor countries will eventually be able to make their own happy living themselves. one day, different cultures in this age of globalization will

coexist with tolerance and the unfriendly confrontations among them will be 7)eliminated. one day, the globe will share the dream with me and we will all contribute to making our dream come true. one day, our dream will defeat the reality! thank you very much.

As a sophomore in college, you were lucky enough to win one million in a lottery recently ,then how will you spend the money.

Ladies and gentlemen: It is my pleasure to speak here about the money I earned in my dreams many times. Supposed I had a lot of money, perhaps, earned from the lottery,I would do a lot of things which had appeared in my dreams many times.

But,first of all,I would like to buy a house or an apartment of my own, only because the price of housing in China nowadays is going higher and higher. And more and more people begin to realize the importance of owning a house or an apartment. Therefore, the housing market is strongly stimulated by the people who are eager to purchase the houses or apartments in big cities, and even some of them have bought the houses by loan from the bank.

What I want to say is that ,even you cannot get married with you girl-friend without a house or an apartment of your own. Perhaps,it is a tragedy for most of the young people, especially the college graduates who have nothing at present. That is why I want to buy a house or an apartment with the money.

White clouds floating gently in the air, changing the moving picture, it is white clouds thanksgiving feeding its blue sky; Fallen leaves from the branches rustling down, write a song touching movement, that is the tree grateful to nourish its earth,

  Student's speech on thanksgiving.

Mountains are grateful to the soil, can become its magnificent; Only when the sea is grateful to the stream can it be broad. The lamb is still know the grace of kneeling milk, crow and feedback of righteousness, as a primate of all things, we should always bear a grateful heart. Because only thanksgiving, the world will be rich and colorful; Only thanksgiving, between people will be full of warmth; Only by being grateful can we realize the true meaning of life.

When I was a child, I had heard grandma say: parents have three kindness to us, " the pain of my life, my pain, my love". How much effort did they devote to me from my " quack" landing to adulthood. Parents love me, I also love them, I will always with gratitude, repay the heart, thank them for giving me life, gave me everything.

One day for the teacher, lifetime for the father. Dear teacher, is you give me knowledge, teach me to be. I want to thank the teacher, with your teachings, my life will be full of sunshine on the road.

I want to thank my friends, on the road of life, we have laughed together, cried together, walked together, with your company, I no longer feel lonely, lonely.

Gratitude is gratitude, is " people respect me a foot, I respect people a zhangs" magnanimous, is " vote for me to peach, to lee" broad - minded. " drop of water, when Yongquan quote. " a person don't know gratitude, the heart will become empty; A heart without moving, the soul will tend to pale.

However, some people in today's society! Since came to the world, much parents care, teachers love, they have no contribution to the society, but complaints, complain unceasingly, feel affection such as fresh water, see kindness such as dirt, only ask for, don't understand the return. How poor are these people's heart!

With gratitude, we will always think of those who are kind to us without saying anything in return. With gratitude, we can reach out to those in trouble in love.

" teach rose, hand leave lingering fragrance", learn to be grateful, know the return, we will harvest more happiness.

Wearing a brilliant, heart is a persistent, foot " gratitude" this piece of pure land, with the heart of gratitude on the road, you and I will step out of the scenery all the way, ushered in a better tomorrow!

  thank you.

Once upon a time, there e young prince... ething so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, I bination of both the process and the satisfactory result of an endeavor. To clarify my viees.

The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. Thats e out first, it e young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. The ancient wisdom had already defined the meaning of success, and this is my definition, too.

hello, everybody! my topic today is "a positive attitude."

communist party of china must birthday, and i think as a general laborer, in their hard paid ordinary post, quiet dedication is a tribute to the party best, the best return on the motherland.

we have to do a good job, first of all have a positive attitude. there is a formula of success, succe= goals + action + insisted + positive attitude. consistent positive attitude, succemust be quality.

bora milutinovic led the chinese team for the first time reached the world cup, which is by far the most successful session of china's national football team. milutinovic was made "happy football, attitude is everything" has become an event in football culture, other areas are keen to learn.

environment we face, there is only one approach but there will be two types: positive and negative. open the same window, one sees the stars in the sky, another to see the muddy ground. such a story. a conductor is performed, audiences around his neck hung a garland. when his command about, there will be a few petals falling. a man said he would stand in the last petal in a pile of other people say that last only a rope around his neck. this is how the two distinct contexts, embodied in the two approaches are completely different.

the same thing, people who actively want to see, negative people see is confusion. similarly, a difficult, active people who want to get is how to overcome the negative people who want to get is how to escape. in fact, after the previous one and is one of two attitudes. each of us are not all do this? sometimes lofty, sometimes frustrating slump. we take a positive attitude towards life, life will return positive results we have, contrary as well.

us all on the deeds of li duan. in 1993, the 15-year-old li duan and wang, li may, chen, yu junkai and other young talents selected 15 "national basketball youth team." at the national youth team, li duancheng to main defender. national youth basketball league's dunk competition, li duan won the championship, can be expected, he will thrive. however, 18 years old, a fire extinguisher in the accidental explosion, let him blind. for a long dash in the games of youth, this fight is no different from destruction. in the original pain, despair, after li duan did not let himself get depressed, he chose a strong, positive boldly say the fate of his world of darkneadaptation, learning for the blind massage to start an independent life. in 1998, he was selected residual transport team in liaoning, , li duan took part in the paralympic games in sydney, in the case of injured and one bronze medal won a silver medal. athens paralympic games, he won two gold medals in long jump and triple jump. beijing paralympic games, he repeats similar success, but also won two gold medals. li duan said, "lost the light, the soul can not fall into darkness; not see the road, the pace can not stand still; fighters can hurt, but the injured soldiers are still soldiers; soldiers can fall, but soldiers will not be defeated!" . the face of a caucasian, li duan choose actively challenge, bravely beyond, finally landed a position of strength the peak of life.

  Good afternoon everyone.

when my older son was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, my first reaction was relief - i finally knew the reason for his behavior. however, i was also overwhelmed with sadness, fear and anger. i felt sorry for my son and for myself. like many others in similar circumstances, my question to god was

through the grace of god, i am now able to focus on my gratitude. i believe god chose me to raise my son because he knew that i would

give him the best i have. he will teach me to love and understand him for who he is. i am grateful that i have my son, and grateful that god chose me to be his mother.

there is power and healing in gratitude.

how can gratitude help us in our everyday lives as moms? think about the difference you can make in your family’s life just by noticing and being thankful for all the great things they do. when you express gratitude, you show your love and appreciation. everyone needs to feel these things every day. sometimes as moms we feel that no one appreciates us - and it is true that moms are usually last on the

list to be thanked. one way you can teach gratitude is by example. even on the days when it seems your children or husband are doing everything wrong, find a reason to thank them. take the time and energy to look for the good. think about the things that your family does that deserve a “thank you.” you might say to your husband, “thank you for working so hard for our family,

“i really appreciate your sense of humor - it feels good to laugh.” expressing your gratitude helps family members to understand how it feels to be appreciated. and if they still don’t catch on, let them know when you feel unappreciated. you can also tell them how great it makes you feel when they do express gratitude.

gratitude is a wonderful motivator when you need cooperation. when enlisting the help of my two year old, i praise him often and with enthusiasm. i let him know that he is a great helper. i know i am teaching him appreciation because he expresses it to me. the other day i brought a bunch of multi-colored roses home. for five days, at least once or twice a day, my son thanked me for the flowers.

sometimes we get so busy and caught up in daily life that we forget to be grateful. we expect everyone to do their share without being asked. the only time anyone hears anything is when a chore has not

been completed. this attitude, over the long haul, will develop very resentful and uncooperative family members.

when life is good, gratitude is easy. it becomes more challenging to be grateful when we are experiencing hard times. financial hardship, long-term illness, the death of a loved one and marital strife can all be trying and difficult. it is hard to find anything to be

grateful for. but while pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. we have a choice in how we view our circumstances. we can turn our

hearts to god and trust that he has a plan for us. we can be thankful for the lessons we learn and the opportunities for personal growth and transformation. look at all the people in this world who share the gifts they received during especially difficult times of their life. it is the painful times of my life that have made me stronger, wiser, and more loving today.

i recently attended a powerful seminar on the various levels of energy that a human being emanates. the presenter identified seven different levels of energy. the first level of energy is defined by feelings of apathy and thoughts of victimization. a person at a level two energy has feelings of anger and thoughts of conflict. as a person moves up the energy scale, their feelings and thoughts are

more positive. at level seven, one would experience unconditional love and no judgmental thoughts. only god radiates at level seven. the average person emits energy at a level of 2.5. to experience

peace and joy, an in- dividual must raise his energy level to 5 or 6.

so how can we raise our energy level and open our heart to joy? one powerful way is to develop an attitude of gratitude. look at every- one with grateful eyes. listen to your heart and the heart of your loved ones. speak words of affirmation every day of your life. be grateful for your life with all its lessons and blessings. the more grateful thoughts and feelings you experience and express the more instrumental you will be in healing the world. and your outlook on life will improve in the process.

Mr. Chairman, Senator Thurmond, members of the committee, my name is Anita F. Hill, and I am a professor of law at the University of Oklahoma. I was born on a farm in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, in 1956. I am the youngest of 13 children. I had my early education in Okmulgee County. My father, Albert Hill, is a farmer in that area. My mother's name is Irma Hill. She is also a farmer and a housewife.

My childhood was one of a lot of hard work and not much money, but it was one of solid family affection, as represented by my parents. I was reared in a religious atmosphere in the Baptist faith, and I have been a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, since 1983. It is a very warm part of my life at the present time.

For my undergraduate work, I went to Oklahoma State University and graduated from there in 1977. I am attaching to this statement a copy of my resume for further details of my education.

I graduated from the university with academic honors and proceeded to the Yale Law School, where I received my JD degree in 1980. Upon graduation from law school, I became a practicing lawyer with the Washington, DC, firm of Ward, Hardraker, and Ross.

In 1981, I was introduced to now Judge Thomas by a mutual friend. Judge Thomas told me that he was anticipating a political appointment, and he asked if I would be interested in working with him. He was, in fact, appointed as Assistant Secretary of Education for Civil Rights. After he had taken that post, he asked if I would become his assistant, and I accepted that position.

In my early period there, I had two major projects. The first was an article I wrote for Judge Thomas' signature on the education of minority students. The second was the organization of a seminar on high-risk students which was abandoned because Judge Thomas transferred to the EEOC where he became the chairman of that office.

During this period at the Department of Education, my working relationship with Judge Thomas was positive. I had a good deal of responsibility and independence. I thought he respected my work and that he trusted my judgment. After approximately three months of working there, he asked me to go out socially with him.

What happened next and telling the world about it are the two most difficult things -- experiences of my life. It is only after a great deal of agonizing consideration and sleepless number -- a great number of sleepless nights that I am able to talk of these unpleasant matters to anyone but my close friends.

I declined the invitation to go out socially with him and explained to him that I thought it would jeopardize what at the time I considered to be a very good working relationship. I had a normal social life with other men outside of the office. I believed then, as now, that having a social relationship with a person who was supervising my work would be ill-advised. I was very uncomfortable with the idea and told him so.

I thought that by saying no and explaining my reasons my employer would abandon his social suggestions. However, to my regret, in the following few weeks, he continued to ask me out on several occasions. He pressed me to justify my reasons for saying no to him. These incidents took place in his office or mine. They were in the form of private conversations which would not have been overheard by anyone else.

My working relationship became even more strained when Judge Thomas began to use work situations to discuss sex. On these occasions, he would call me into his office for reports on education issues and projects, or he might suggest that, because of the time pressures of his schedule, we go to lunch to a government cafeteria. After a brief discussion of work, he would turn the conversation to a discussion of sexual matters.

His conversations were very vivid. He spoke about acts that he had seen in pornographic films involving such matters as women having sex with animals and films showing group sex or rape scenes. He talked about pornographic materials depicting individuals with large penises or large breasts involved in various sex acts. On several occasions, Thomas told me graphically of his own sexual prowess.

Because I was extremely uncomfortable talking about sex with him at all and particularly in such a graphic way, I told him that I did not want to talk about these subjects. I would also try to change the subject to education matters or to nonsexual personal matters such as his background or his beliefs. My efforts to change the subject were rarely successful.

Throughout the period of these conversations, he also from time to time asked me for social engagements. My reaction to these conversations was to avoid them by eliminating opportunities for us to engage in extended conversations. This was difficult because at the time I was his only assistant at the Office of Education -- or Office for Civil Rights.

During the latter part of my time at the Department of Education, the social pressures and any conversation of his offensive behavior ended. I began both to believe and hope that our working relationship could be a proper, cordial, and professional one.

When Judge Thomas was made chair of the EEOC, I needed to face the question of whether to go with him. I was asked to do so, and I did. The work itself was interesting, and at that time it appeared that the sexual overtures which had so troubled me had ended. I also faced the realistic fact that I had no alternative job. While I might have gone back to private practice, perhaps in my old firm or at another, I was dedicated to civil rights work, and my first choice was to be in that field. Moreover, the Department of Education itself was a dubious venture. President Reagan was seeking to abolish the entire department.

For my first months at the EEOC, where I continued to be an assistant to Judge Thomas, there were no sexual conversations or overtures. However, during the fall and winter of 1982, these began again. The comments were random and ranged from pressing me about why I didn't go out with him to remarks about my personal appearance. I remember his saying that some day I would have to tell him the real reason that I wouldn't go out with him.

Over the past Spring Festival, I got involved in a family dispute. Right before I got home, four satellite channels of CCTV were added to the 14 channels we had already had. In prime time at night, they all had interesting shows. Therefore, the five of us-my parents, my sisters and I-had to argue over what to watch. Finally, we agreed that we should watch the "most interesting" program... If wecould agree what that was.

However, all of us there remember that for a long time after we had TV, there were only one or two channels available. The increase in options reveals an important change in our life: the abundance of choice.

Fifteen years ago we all dressed in one style and in one color. Today, we select from a wide variety of designs and shades.

Fifteen years ago, we read few newspapers. Today, we read English

newspapers like the China Daily and the 21st Century, as well as various Chinese newspapers.

Fifteen years ago, English majors took only courses in language and literature. Today, we also study Western culture, journalism, business communications, international relations, and computer science.

The emergence of choices marks the beginning of a new era in China's history; an era of diversity, of material and cultural richness, and an era of the rebirth of the Chinese nation.

We enjoy the abundance of choice. But this has not come easily.

About 150 years ago, China was forced to open up its door by Western canons and gunboats. It has been through the struggle and sacrifice of generations that we finally have gained the opportunity to choose for ourselves. The policy of reform and openness is the choice that has made all the difference.

Like others of my age, I'm too young to have experienced the time when the Chinese people had no right to choose. However, as the next century draws near, it is time to ask: What does choice really mean to us young people?

Is choice a game that relies on chance or luck? Is choice an empty promise that never materializes? Or is choice a puzzle so difficult that we have to avoid it?

First, I would like to say: To choose means to claim opportunities. I am a third-year English major. An important choice for me, of course, is what to do upon graduation. I can go to graduate school, at home or abroad. I can go to work as a teacher, a translator, a journalist, an editor and a diplomat. Actually, the system of mutual selection has allowed me to approach almost every career opportunity in China.

Indeed, this is not going to be an easy choice. I would love to work in such big cities as Beijing or Shanghai or Shenzhen. I would also love to return to my hometown, which is intimate, though slightly lagging in development. I would love to stay in the coastal area where life is exciting and fast-paced. I would also love to put down roots in central and western China, which is underdeveloped, but holdsgreat potential.

All of these sound good. But they are only possibilities. To those of us who are bewildered at the abundance of opportunities, I would like to say: To choose means to accept challenge.

To us young people, challenge often emerges in the form of competition. In the next century, competition will not only come from other college graduates, but also from people of all ages and of all origins. With increasing international exchanges, we have to face growing competition from the whole outside world. This is calling for a higher level of our personal development.

Fifteen years ago, the knowledge of a foreign language or of computer operation was considered merely an advantage. But today, with wider educational opportunities, this same knowledge has become essential to everyone.

Given this situation, even our smallest choices will require great wisdom and personal determination.

As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.

As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.

Nuclear power, for instance, may improve our quality of life. But it can also be used to damage the lives and possessions of millions.

Economic development has enriched our lives but brought with it serious harm to our air, water and health.

To those of us who are blind to the consequences of their choices, I would like to say, To choose means to take responsibility. When we are making choices for ourselves, we cannot casually say: "It's just my own business. " As policy makers of the next century, we cannot fail to see our responsibility to those who share the earth with us.

The traditional Chinese culture teaches us to study hard and work hard so as to honor our family. To me, however, this family is not just the five of us who quarreled over television programs. Rather, it is the whole of the human family. As I am making my choices, I will not forget the smile of my teacher when I correctly spelled out the word "China" for the first time, I will not forget the happy faces of the boys and girls we helped to send back to school in the mountains of Jiangxi Province. I will not forget the tearful eyes of women and children in Bosnia, Chechnya and Somali, where millions are suffering from war, famine or poverty. All these people, known and unknown, make up our big human family. At different points, they came into my life and broaden my perspective. Now as I am to make choices for myself, it is time to make efforts to improve their lives, because a world will benefit us all only if every one in it

can lead a peaceful and prosperous life.

one student is just like a flower

my dear mr. and misses, my fellows schoolmates,

good morning! as you know and see, it is a sunny bump harvest season. in the city, in our school campus, everywhere is surrounded with roses which we together planted 4 years ago. today may these roses and our friendship as well be together and comfort our excited hearts!

it was four years ago that everyone of us came from every part of china and formed a new collective. as we are young, it’s very easy for us to communicate. it was in the past four years that we were ambitious. it was in the past four years that we worried. it was in the past four years that we were content. it was in the past four years that we were vexed. it was in the past four years that we were friendly and lonely ... and it was in the past fours that we studied, lived and respected each other with genuine and with our ambitions. nothing in the world is more significant than we miss all of these.

we miss you─teachers who are tireless in teaching; we will keep your gestures and your white hairs in our hearts deeply; we will miss the quietness with the lights at night in the classroom; we will miss the race and exercise on the playground; we will miss even the crowds in the dining hall and the quarrel on the beds; we will still miss every green piece and every piece of waste paper flying like flakes in the air ... however, today we will leave nothing but the first rose with our alma mater and our teachers which is entrusted with our love and respect.

4 years seems very long but 4 years seems very short. from now on, we all will go into the society. the society is broad and wide for us. we will shoulder heavy responsibilities; we will work diligently; and we will expect to be informed of good news from one another. now, i beg you all to cherish the occasion; to remember the names, the status, appearance and the character of the person around you. now let’s be hand in hand together; let’s present the rose to each other. may the rose carry our appreciation and blessing! we are very closely linked no matter what the world may be. may the fresh rose in our hands keep its fragrants!

  thank you all again!

i love english,it gives me a colorful dream.i hope i can travel around the world one day. with my good english, i can make friends with many people from different contries.i can see many places of great intrests.i dream that i can go to london, because it is the birth place of english.

i also want to use my good english to introduce our great places to the english spoken people,i hope that they can love our country like us.

i know, rome was not built in a day. i believe that after continuous hard study, one day i can speak english very well.

if you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. so i believe as i love english everyday , it will love me too.

i am sure that i will realize my dream one day!

  thank you!

we are the world ,we are the future

someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. i don’t know who wrote these words, but i’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the position of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

we are young. “how to spend the youth?” it is a meaningful question. to answer it, first i have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. it’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. it’s the matter of the will. it’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.

a poet said “to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. several days ago, i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. i’d like to share it with all of you. let’s show our right palms. we can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. i have a short line of life. what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, let’s make a fist. where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah, it is in our hands. it is held in ourselves.

we all want the future to be better than the past. but the future can go better itself.don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. from the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. we’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.

as what i said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. the past has gone. nothing we do will change it. but the future is in front of us. believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. and from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “we are the world, we are the future.”

Confronting the Financial Crisis ,What Should We College Students Do ?

Honourable judges ,ladies and gentlemen :

Good morning ! At the beginning of my speech , I’d like to make a brief introductoion about myself that I hope won’t bore you , my name is Liu Zijing ,who come from Bozhou of Anhui province ,I was admitted to Huaibei Coal Industry Teacher’s College in 20xx,and major in Chinese Language and Literature . My today’s speech is : Confronting the financial crisis ,what should we college students do ?

When you walking along a street , an inevitable phenomenon you will find is that lots of shops or markets are selling their goods at a discount ; When you visting a countryside ,an evident situation you will discover is that many workers are staying in their hometown . Why ? That’s because the financial crisis that originated on Wall Street and swept the world has gone beyond the toy sector and bitten into the Chinese economy. Over the past six months, many labor-intensive factories have shut down ,leaving massive numbers of workers jobless . Although our government have taken some effective measures to stimulate the need of employment , we also can’t deny the fact that the situation is still serious . According to expects , China’s GDP growth slowed to 9.9 percent down 2.3 percentage points from the same period lastyear and falling to single figures for the first time in five years .

As a college students ,I can’t be more sensitive to the essential.
