如何提高 “英語口語”課教學效果
英語口語教學最根本的目的就是培養學生的交際能力。因此,在英語口語教學中如何通過拓寬學生的知識面、深化思維、鍛煉他們的語言能力,培養他們的思辨能力與創造能力,提高學生英語交際能力,成為英語口語教學必須完成的中心任務。筆者經過幾年來口語教學實踐,總結出了一套行之有效的方法,并取得了顯著的效果。1.通過中西文化及語言的差異比較,設計日?谡Z會話情景,訓練日?谡Z會話
學生要熟練掌握日?谡Z會話,就必須掌握范圍廣闊的、基本得當的日常用語,以服務于交際目的。如怎樣表示想與陌生人交談;怎樣表示喜愛與厭惡,贊同與異議;怎樣問路與指路;怎樣發出與接受邀請;怎樣處理電話;怎樣抱怨與安慰別人;如何購物、求醫、求學,節假日或旅游時的交際范圍有那些等等。這些問題看似簡單,但由于中西文化及語言的差異,好多學生不知如何應付這些問題。在基礎會話單元教學過程,筆者針對這一情況首先通過中西方語言差異比較,將學生感到困難的關鍵句列在黑板上,然后將學生分組,自己設計情景,組織會話,并進行反復實踐,使學生對自己使用不當的和道得體的語言行逐步加深印象。如在對學生發出各種各樣的由英文語法+漢語表達的"邀請"信息后,將各種得體地道的表達形式列于黑板:
1) How about coming to my place for dinner this Saturday?
2) Have you got any plan for this weekend?
3) I am having some friends around during the weekend. Would you like to join us
4) Let’s get together sometime next week. What date do you suggest?
5) I wonder if we could arrange a meeting.
6) I’d like to invite you over for dinner this Friday.
或者更口語化些:
7) Shall we have lunch together?
8) Why don’t we have lunch together?
然后要求學生用所給的關鍵句,設計情景,反復實踐,直到嫻熟。
在這一階段教學中,筆者還注意結合所練內容不斷給學生補充一些與他們日常生活及學習密切相關的語句, 如:
1) Simon blew Mary a kiss.(西蒙給馬麗一個飛吻)
2) I’ll walk (take or see) you home. (我送你回家。)
3) We pooled in money to buy Alice a birthday cake.(我們湊錢給愛麗斯買了個生日蛋糕。).
4) I was pressed for time.(我時間很緊張。)
5) The cameras whirred and the flashbulbs popped.(照相機颼颼響,閃光燈呼呼叫。
6) The second book was a slim volume.(第二本書很薄.)
7) The teacher was impressed with me.(老師對我印象很深。)
8) She let out the secret by a slip of the tongue.(她說走了嘴。)
9) Exercises dull our appetite.(運動使得我們沒了胃口。)
10) Her job at the TV Station didn’t officially start for another two weeks.(她在電臺的工作兩周以后才正式開始。)
11) One morning I woke up early and flipped on a movie channel.(一天早上我醒來很早,順手搖開了一家電影屏道。)
12) She was chewing a huge wad of gum, which she fashioned into a bubble with her tongue.(她正在嚼一大塊口香糖,然后把它吹成一個泡。)
13) The California sunlight blinded me as I walked back to my motor home.(在我回我旅宿汽車的路上,,加利福尼亞的太陽照得我睜不開眼。)
14) Soon after that I ran a relay race during an important high school track and field meet.(不久,在學校一次重要的田徑會上,我參加了接力賽。)
15) She was already half way down the path, pushing her bicycle with a slow, dream like gait.(她已經走到半路了,象在夢中一樣地緩慢地推著自行車。)
