（一）關系副詞引導的定于從句和介詞+關系代詞陰道的定于從句
1。關系副詞引導的定語從句
關系詞 現行詞 在從句中的作用 舉例（粗體為現行詞，下劃線為定于從句）
when=in/at/on+which 時間名詞 作時間狀語 i’ll never forget the day when/on which i joined the communist party.
where=in/at/on+which 地點名詞 作地點狀語 the factory where/in which my father works in the east of the city.
why= for + which reason 作原因狀語 none of us know the reason why/for which he was absent form the meeting.2. 介詞+關系代詞引導的定語從句
介詞+關系代詞引導的定語從句時，介詞賓語只能用which(指物)whom(指人),介詞的賓語只能用which(指物）和whom，即介詞+which/whom
⑴. 當介詞放在關系代詞的前面時，介詞賓語只用which或whom,關系代詞不能省略，如：
this is the hero of whom we are proud. （whom不能省略，不能用who代替）
this is the pen with which i wrote the letter. （which 不能省略，不能用that 代替）
⑵. 當介詞位于定語從句的末尾時，可用that/which (指物），that/ whom/ who作介詞的賓語，而且作介詞賓語的關系代詞往往省略，如：
this is the hero that/who/whom we are proud of. 關系詞不能省略。
this is the pen that/which i wrote the letter with. 關系詞可省略。
⑶.復合介詞短語+關系代詞which 引導的定語從句，這種結構引導的定語從句常與先行詞用逗號隔開，定語從句常用倒裝語序。如：
he lived in a big house, in front of which stood a big tall tree.
